Why Color Street?

Personally, I believe our peel & stick nail polish strips are pure genius, and I LOVE a good invention!

My niece invited me to a party in November of 2019, and I purchased several sets for Christmas presents, knowing I would never wear them, but would instead gift them. You see, I only put on polish a few times in my life because first, walking into a salon gave me an immediate headache from the fumes, and second, if I did them myself, they would chip the first day. Neither choice was good for me, so bare nails were an absolute for the first 59 years of my life.

At the Plaza was in the bunch I ordered, and I decided I would put them on just for the heck of it. The GAME CHANGED at that moment! I've only been without polish for maybe four days since then. Who knew wearing nail polish could make you feel pretty, put together, and feminine? I am sure many of you did, but I sure didn't. Now, I get it, and I am thrilled to share this joy with others.

I joined Color Street in March of 2020 and can honestly say it was perfect timing for me. When I joined, I was moved, motivated, or, you could say, emotionally drawn to become a stylist when UnstoppABLE was released, raising funds and awareness for Developmental Disabilities. The Color Street Foundation released a set to raise awareness for Developmental Disabilities and donated $100,000, split between two worthy organizations supporting citizens in this population. My family was blessed and touched by an angel while my niece Christy was with us. Her disabilities fell under the vast umbrella of developmental disabilities. I was moved that a company would form a foundation to support so many worthy causes, this being one of them and the dearest to my heart.

Being a stylist has allowed me so much fun and interaction at a time when I might have been lonely, stressed, or depressed. It has filled my days with pretty manicures, new friends, and reconnection with old friends. Planning, playing games, and interacting with people I would have never met or reconnected with has been a blessing.

Shortly after becoming a stylist, I became sick and in isolation like so many during that time. I put a card table up in my bedroom, put my computer on it, and got busy. I napped a lot and then communicated in a virtual world that saved my sanity. Two more times, this occurred with a second bout of covid and then with a knee replacement. I still read tons of books and napped a lot, too. In a time when I would have struggled mentally, I thrived and, therefore, continue to be forever thankful for this opportunity.

Being a stylist has given me personal development opportunities, opportunities to support others on this journey, joy beyond measure, and the opportunity to dream.

Indeed, I am having fun and have found joy that I didn't know I needed.
